Modstream LLC (“ModStream,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices you have when you visit the ModStream website, purchase or license ModStream, or use our software and related services.

We collect a limited amount of information needed to provide and operate ModStream.

Information You Provide

When you request access, join our mailing list, purchase ModStream, activate a license, or otherwise interact with our services, we may collect information such as:

  • Information associated with your ModStream purchase, license, or activation

  • Transaction and payment-status information

ModStream does not directly store your full credit or debit card number. Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles payment information according to its own privacy practices.

License and Device Information

ModStream uses a licensing system to activate the software and manage access. This system may collect and store information such as:

  • Your email address

  • A machine or device identifier

  • License and activation status

  • Activation timestamps

  • Transaction or checkout identifiers

  • Payment status and currency

  • Records relating to delivery of licensing or access emails

We use this information to provide access to ModStream, validate licenses, manage device activations, prevent fraud or abuse, and provide support.

Website Analytics and Advertising Information

We may use analytics and advertising technologies from providers such as Google, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

These technologies may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to collect information about how visitors interact with our website, such as pages visited, browser or device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, referring websites, and interactions with our advertising.

We may use this information to understand website performance, measure advertising effectiveness, attribute visits or purchases to advertising campaigns, improve our marketing, and show relevant advertising.

2. Your Webcam and Creative Content Stay on Your Device

ModStream is designed as local creative software.

Your webcam feed, ModStream recordings, screen captures, imported photos, imported videos, and other creative media used within ModStream are processed locally on your computer and are not uploaded to ModStream's servers.

ModStream does not currently collect desktop-app usage analytics, crash telemetry, webcam footage, or recordings from your use of the ModStream application.

If ModStream introduces optional diagnostic or reporting features in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate to explain what information those features collect and how it is used.

3. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide and operate ModStream

  • Process and maintain purchases and licenses

  • Authenticate access through email and magic links

  • Manage device activations

  • Send transactional messages relating to purchases, access, licensing, or the operation of ModStream

  • Send marketing communications when appropriate

  • Understand and improve our website and marketing

Google / Firebase for cloud infrastructure and storage of information associated with access and licensing.

Stripe for payment processing.

Resend for transactional emails such as access, authentication, and licensing messages.

Mailchimp for marketing email communications.

Google, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn for analytics, advertising, campaign measurement, attribution, and related marketing activities.

These providers may process information on our behalf or, in some circumstances, according to their own privacy policies and terms.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect our rights or users, investigate fraud or security issues, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, or other business transaction.

5. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

Modstream LLC does not sell personal information for money.

Some advertising and analytics technologies may involve disclosure of identifiers or website activity to advertising partners. Certain privacy laws may define some of these activities as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale” even when no money is exchanged for the information.

Where applicable, you may have the right to opt out of these activities. We will provide privacy choices and honor legally required opt-out mechanisms where applicable.

We may send transactional emails necessary to provide ModStream, including magic links, purchase information, access messages, and licensing communications.

We may also send marketing communications through Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in those messages.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent us from sending necessary transactional or service-related messages.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing ModStream, maintaining licenses and transaction records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud or abuse, and enforcing our agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is being processed.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information

ModStream is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
